You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free

Þ Why are they able to lead so many people astray; doing more harm to Jesus’ blood-bought souls than anyone can imagine?  They actually brainwash gullible believers to be so disobedient to Jesus’ protective commandments in His Word, that they can pull them into the occult, not set them free into the true Kingdom of God!  (Read 1 Ths. 5:21-22; 1 Jn. 4:1-4.)

It is important to realize that believers “are destroyed through a lack of knowledge” and by disobedience to the Truth, because they bow the knee to those who introduce themselves as priests, pastors, ministers, etcetera. It seems people do not know they must never submit to self-assumed, false spiritual authority, (Hos. 4:6; 1 Ths. 5:21; 1 Jn. 4:1-4.)

Bob Larson is a good example of how these ‘deliverers’ work wrote, “Consider [secret Roman Catholic Jesuit] Bob Larson’s description of his ministry to a person in bondage. The person had numerous “alters” (multiple personalities) as well as ‘demonic bondage.’ This person with “dissociative identity disorder” [pure psychology lingo and completely foreign to Scripture,] had a demon called “Gatekeeper” who kept letting demons back in after they had [supposedly] been cast out. Larson describes the causes of such disorders and how he learned to speak to different identities within a person. He was dealing with a person who had alternate personalities called “Facilitator” and “Regulator.” Larson theorized that in this person demons could possess an “alter.”  Larson explains: In the realm of multiple personalities, there are good alters and bad alters.  [Like good and bad witches??] Good alters are the part of the person’s consciousness that has acknowledged Christ as Savior. Bad alters, for one reason or another, refuse to make that spiritual surrender. This complex situation leads to the following action for the spiritual technician: “Our task is to sort through the maze to gain the assistance of the good alters. Then we can attempt to win the bad alters to God.’ Larson proceeded to have the alternate personality within his client help him identify the “dark ones” and went through an incredibly complex task of sorting out the demons and “alters” within this person. Larson then leads [the demon] Facilitator to Christ.”

Since when can demons be won to God??  How is it possible that believers can fall for such obvious occult-babbling rubbish??

“Larson [supposedly] uncovers hidden memories, [very dangerous New Age and other occult stuff,] legal ground that the demons had, [allegedly through so-called ‘ancestor sin,’] and the names of ‘obscure demons.’ This is one prayer he used to help the victim find freedom: “I command that angels of God search out and torment the spirit of pain. I bind Pain to Regulator the demon, and command that both of them experience all the torment they’ve put on Adam.  I increase that torment seven times greater.”

Even people with superficial knowledge of the Scriptures can see that these practices are from the occult, and that these ‘deliverers’ are great violators of God Himself, His True Word, and His holy angelsApart from the fact that demons are inherent liars and deceivers, God Himself strictly forbade people to act as “mediums,” and “spiritists,” who converse with demons and invite evil spirits to use them as mouthpieces, (Jn. 8:44; Deut. 18:10-13.)  Bob Larson, his so-called ‘spiritual warfare’ team and all their affiliates are very dangerous people; assuming blasphemously God’s authority and Supreme judgment over His creation and in particular, over holy and fallen angels, while twisting and abusing God’s Word

God commanded in Deut. 18:10-14, “There shall not be found among you anyone who… practices witchcraft… or a medium, or a spiritist, [who calls up, speaks to demons to gain information from them, and works through them,] or one who [pretends] to call up the dead, [because the dead knows nothing of this life anymore, these are evil spirits pretending to be disembodied human spirits; Eccl. 9:5-6.]  For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord…”

What’s more, Scripturally and practically, no one except God Himself can command His holy angelsHoly angels are obedient to God Alone.  And no human being has the right, authority, or power to torment anyone – especially not spiritual beings

Occultism, Psychiatry, the Roman Catholic clerical collar and stole, special anointing oils and holy water…  What next?

Since the establishment of Pentecostalism in the early 20th century, where signs and wonders took centre stage, ‘deliverance ministries’ of all kinds were suddenly spawn.  (These believers mostly experience God through their unbiblical ‘baptism in the holy spirit with the so-called ‘evidence of speaking in tongues,’ not through the truth of His Word.)

Their ‘deliverance ministries’ differ from Catholic exorcism in that they euphemise ‘demonic possession’ by calling it “spiritual oppression,” because they know very well that it is impossible to belong to God and the devil at the same time.  They mostly operate during church services, allegedly casting out demons from believers publically and in most embarrassing and chaotic ways; making a real spectacle of those in need of true, Holy Spirit inspired prayer, Bible truth, and repentance, (Jam. 5:13-18.)  Their many so-called ‘experts’ also commit their ‘deliverance’ destruction on unwary people in private; imitating the dogmas and methodologies of clinical physiologists and so-called ‘mentors’ like occultist Bob Larson. During the later years of these ‘ministries,’ even Calvinist (Dutch and other Reformed) ministers joined this deliverance’ crusadeAs seen in the photo of Bob Larson on the first page of this study, to keep in fashion with Roman Catholic exorcists, they even wear the “clerical collar and stole.” This type of ‘deliverance costume’ [how the demons must laugh at them!] is an old hand-me-down from Catholics to Presbyterians, to Baptists, and to Pentecostals - which proves the unifying of all churches under the banner of their spiritual ‘mother,’ the Roman Catholic Church

Þ Protestant ‘deliverers’ also use various talismans or demonically charged occult objects to supposedly cast out demons from believers.  These include ‘special’ anointing oils, crucifixes, shofars, so-called ‘holy water,’ and their physical Bibles, (which they use to cast and even ‘beat’ demons out of people.)  However, the anointing of oil must be done with ordinary oil.  The oil itself does not have any power, it is ‘merely’ a symbol of the Holy Spirit.  It is the sincere confession of abuse against each other, accompanied by the prayer of sincere believers, in combination with the symbol that the Holy Spirit heals, which manifest God’s true power, (Jam. 5:14-18.)  Additionally, the  ‘holy’ water does not refer to Jesus or His Word, but to the pagan, Christianized, water god of Catholicism.  And using the Bible as if the ‘Holy Book’ itself has ‘magic powers!’  The Bible (the paper book itself) is not ‘holy’ or ‘especially anointed.’  It is, therefore, not a ‘powerful god-charged’ piece of paper that does miracles all by itself.  It is the Most Holy Truth that is written on its pages, which becomes “spirit and life” (Jn. 6:63) once we personally believe and accept it as the Words of Jesus Christ Himself.  We should, therefore, not revere the book itself as the ‘power’ and ‘holiness’ of God, which we can use like an occult object to protect, “deliver,” and do other miracles with.

Some ‘expert ministries’ tackle the problem of ‘deliverance’ through specific programs and Christian counselling.  Similar to, and mostly based on Hindu and Buddhist New Age techniques and teachings, they probe the believer’s memory to find the underlying causes of problems to eliminate the demonic roots of behavioural, psychological, spiritual, financial, relationship and other problems.  Hence, many  call themselves Christian psychologists, while the impious teachings of physiology can never be reconciled with Jesus Christ and His true Word.

Þ Just for clarity: This ‘deliverance’ is about psychology and subliminal occultism, and does not include the power of sharing Scriptural Truth in Holy-Spirit leading, Godly love, and sincere fellowship.  Jesus commanded us to “weep with those who weep” and “carry one another’s burdens, thus fulfilling the Law of Love.”  To share our problems to pray, help, teach, comfort, correct, and support one another is Godly and Scriptural.  To use any of these “deliverance” techniques, is occultism mixed with Bible verses.

Concerning the ‘slain-in-the-spirit’ chaos, drunk-in-the-spirit and all the other most embarrassing things that happen in churches and private ‘deliverance,’ we must know that the True Holy Spirit of the Bible will never violate His Word.  Neither will He embarrass and humiliate us in public without good reason, (Mt. 18:15-20,) or use occult techniques to supposedly ‘deliver’ us.

Yet, it is frightening to see how people line up during church services for ‘deliverance;’ surrendering blindly to that person laying hands on them, touching them, or waving their clothing over them to make them fall over or manifest a demon of some kind, which is then either seen as the work of their chaotic ‘holy spirit,’ (2 Cor. 11:4,) or dealt with spectacularly in public as ‘deliverance’ of some kind.

We must be careful who we allow to pray over us, lay hands on us, and embarrass us before the watching world.  All the other madness aside, the laying on of hands have specific purposes in Scripture, which should only be done in clear Holy Spirit leading.  When someone ungodly lays hands on us, he or she can transfer evil spirits to us.  The opposite is also true: “Lay hands suddenly on no man…  keep yourself pure,” (1 Tim. 5:22.)

Þ I cannot emphasise it enough:  God’s Word commands us to remain in control of our minds and thoughts as far as possible, and that’s why we must never surrender to false authority or get drunk in any way!  We must “be vigilant [against the schemes of the evil one,]” be watchful, sober minded, of a sound mind, single-minded, not surrender to false authority, and take captive our thoughts in obedience to Christ.  Our born again human spirits must be subject to us and not the other way round, and we must do everything “orderly,” (not stiffly or with religious exclusivity and pride, which is the opposite of disorderly conduct,) because God is not the author of chaos, confusion, and the rejection of the real charisma, gifts, and power of the Spirit, (1 Pt. 5:8-9; 2 Tim. 1:7; 2 Cor. 10:5.)

The Holy Spirit will lead us and empower us with His Scriptural gifts to do His will, but always according to the truth of His Word.  He will never override our free will. He empowers us supernaturally with His gifts and ministry, and through the real Scriptural ministry of other true believers.  He will never overpower us and force us to surrender to unscriptural authority and the twisting of His Most Holy Word.

The Real Holy Spirit is not the ringmaster of a church circus.  He is the Creator of His entire universeIf we have unrepentant sin in our lives, He will speak gently and openly to us first, convincing and convicting us of all sin against His Moral, (Jn. 13:34.)  If we do not listen and remain unrepentant,  He will confirm His will through someone else or in some other way. If we remain unrepentant even then, He will expose us in a civilized manner.  In this way, the Holy Spirit will bring us to shame with the motive of leading us to repentance; His comfort, and eternal life.  But, if we remain unrepentant, He will expose us publically for the safety of other people, (Eph. 5:11; Mt. 18:15-20.)

What about the supernatural experiences of those who were supposedly ‘delivered?’

There can be no doubt that something strange and supernatural is going on here.  These people are playing dangerous games with the devil and his demons.  The Sovereign, Omnipotent Holy Spirit does miracles — and of course, He also uses the mighty ministry of His holy angels, who are always under His direct command and never under ours.  Nevertheless, we place ourselves in dreadful spiritual, emotional, and physical danger if we disobey God, Who commands that we must never accept any spiritual teaching or manifestation at face value.  We must always “test and prove the spirits (and their teachings) to see whether they are of God,” (1 Ths. 5:21; 1 Jn. 1:1-4.)

The devil usually turns himself into an angel of light to deceive the unwary and disobedient to gain a foothold in their lives, (2 Cor. 11:3-15.)  By believing false doctrine and accepting the works of false spirits, our “minds can [actually be so] corrupted…  [That,] if one preaches another Jesus…  or if we receive another [‘holy’] spirit, or another gospel, we may very well put up with it!”  (Gal. 1:6-10; 3:1.)

This is why we can say, due to their extreme abuse of Scripture and their use of the occult to justify their practices, these so-called ‘deliverers’ are not under the control of the Holy Spirit of the Bible, and they are not ‘commanding’ God’s holy angels — which is totally impossible as God’s holy angels only submit to God Himself, (Ps. 103:20.)

Þ These ‘deliverers’ are using the power of strange spirits on unwary believers.  It is noteworthy that just because its ‘supernatural,’ does not mean it comes from the Highest Creator God and Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ.  They also use physiological techniques that might seem supernatural to their ‘patients,’ but can be pure ‘mind over matter.’  Some of their most common practices are auto-suggestion and the placebo effect.  Such ‘effects’ originate from the natural brain, but unknowingly to many people, they are mostly steered by demons.  The evil one will not pass up on such golden opportunities to deceive believers — and of course, unbelievers as well.  God allows “strong delusion” over people who “do not have a love for the truth... so that they should believe the lie,” (2 Ths. 2:9-12.)  Therefore, submitting to any form of deception is always a very serious matter.

The Placebo Effect happens naturally when a phony treatment with a ‘placebo’ such as salt, sugar, or vinegar improves a problem simply because the person believes it will heal him.  Auto-suggestion is another natural technique, abused by the occult, to “program the mind” for ‘the reality’ of a suggested happening, which the person then believes with astounding results.  So, seriously “suggesting” that the believer has demons inside him, can trigger intense feelings of being controlled by indwelling supernatural forces while the demons might be outside him, laughing themselves into stitches.  We can make ourselves believe anything once we fall under the spell of illusionists and believe they possess special powers — and, of course, the work of that great magician the devil is never excluded from any type of deception.  Hence, Paul wrote in Gal. 3:1, “O foolish Galatians!  Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth…”

So, if that ‘deliverer,’ whom you respect and trust, states that demons are living in you and he is “casting them out” right now — and you are believing it contrary to the truth of God’s Word…  Well, who knows what the devil can make you believe you are experiencing as you open yourself to the “power of suggestion?”  The devil is a dangerous showman and liar.  If you believe his demons are living in you, (and only you know how sincere your relationship with Jesus is,) they will show all kinds of signs to ‘prove’ that they are living in you.

See how dangerous these people and their lying father the devil are, once we step out from under the protective Truth of God’s Word?

The devil never plays games with anyone — except to entrap them in a prison where he tortures and, with God’s permission, even murders them.  Jesus warned, “[Don’t be fooled,] the thief [never] comes [without the intention] to steal [your liberty in Christ,] kill, and destroy.  But [praise our Father in  heaven,] for I have come that [you] may have life, [freedom, salvation, and blessing,] and that [you] may have it more abundantly,”  (Jn. 10:10.)

I have Strayed far away from Jesus and want to Return to Him — is it possible after all I’ve done?

Many believers ask, “I have strayed from Jesus by going to ‘deliverers’ to help me with my problems.  But now I am totally destroyed.  They have done terrible things to me, which I do not understand.  Demons are literally tearing me to pieces.  I do not have a moment’s rest for my soul.  Dark forces surround me all the time.  Lust, anger, unforgiveness, fear, and hopelessness are all over me.  I am lonely, worthless, foul, and lost.  I cannot pray or read my Bible and if I do, I cannot understand what I am reading.  Foul thoughts, condemnation, and confusion have taken control of my mind.  I am worse off now than I’ve ever been, and I know I must return to God somehow.  But I do not know if He will ever accept me again.  What must I do, as I can never live or survive without Him?  The devil refuses to let go of me no matter what I do.”

The time has now come that all these ‘destroyed’ victims of spiritual abuse must realize that Jesus promised in Jn. 6:37, “...The one who comes to Me I will be no means cast out.”  Jesus is your Redeemer and He will never lie to you.  If you can understand and remember just one Bible verse, take this promise.  Make it yours.  Write it everywhere you can see it.  Read it aloud, confess it, and thank God for it.  Fall at His feet and empty your heart before His throne of mercy, (Eph. 1:7.)  Jesus is our High Priest Who lives forever to intercede for us.  He loved you so much He gave Himself in your place for exactly these terrible things you are going through right now

Þ If the problem is that the person was merely a church attendee and not really personally born again through faith in Jesus, those questions are easy to answer.  Most of those concerns will be instantly resolved once the person understands Jesus’ true Gospel, sincerely accept Him, and make a deep commitment to follow Him as His disciple, (Jn. 8:12.)  The way forward will then be to baptized in water as His disciple, and to “renew” the ‘mind’ or thoughts and beliefs by ingesting the contextual truth of God’s Word, (Rom. 12:1-2.)

Þ Another problem is that such terribly confused and really oppressed believers find it difficult if not impossible to believe that, if they were sincerely committed to Christ, (no matter the confusion and sin that got hold of them,) the demons were not living in them. They have not committed the “unpardonable sin.”  If they did, they would not be so tormented, and they would not desire so strongly to “return to Christ,” as they put it.  Whatever happened during those visits to “deliverers,” if believers sincerely return to Jesus, He will deal with all the demonic control, harassment, and manifestations they experience.  But the problem is, they now find it hard to believe that Jesus will forgive them all their sins.  They believe it is impossible to return to Him without the fuss of ‘exorcism.’

Now if you choose to believe that demons are (or were) living in you, they will ‘prove’ to you it is true, although it could have been just another satanic hoax.  Chances are that they were (and still are) just deceiving and harassing you.  So, you must simply deal with it in prayer before God’s throne and then stand your ground until they realize your fear-and-condemnation relationship with them is over, (Eph. 1:7.

Þ What does it matter now if they could have been inside you?  Here, at this moment, as you sincerely return to Jesus, just confess your sin in detail to Him; ask His forgiveness, and invite Him anew into your ‘heart,’ ‘soul,’ body, and life — and what was done, no matter how bad it was, is over, (1 Ths. 5:23.)  He promises that “His blood cleanses [redeems] us from all unrighteousness,” (1 Jn. 1:8-10.)  You have returned to your Redeemer like the prodigal son, (Lu. 15:16-24.)  He forgave you and accepted you wholeheartedly.  If you abused other people, confess that by name to them as well.  There is great healing in obeying God’s Moral Law of Love, (Jam. 5:16-18.)

You might have a battle to ‘prove’ to the devil that you meant what you said when you returned to Jesus, but he is a defeated foe.  He is lying to you. Deny all feelings and refuse to believe his lies.  You are now a true believer, and you cannot, cannot, cannot have demons living inside you!  We live by faith not by sight.  “The Holy Spirit is abiding in you,”  (1 Jn. 1:9; 2:20.)  And Jesus most definitely does not share His holy temple with demons, (1 Cor. 6:15-20.)

This is either the truth, or it is a lie.  You decide.  If it is true, believe it.  Tell it to the devil.  Tell it to yourself. Stand on it and thank God for it.  Withstand the devil through the blood of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit, which means you rely on Jesus and His full atonement (redemption) in your place, not on yourself, (Rev. 12:11.)  Live every moment in it.  The truth of God’s Word is your bread from heaven, which will nourish you and make you strong.

You must hide yourself prayerfully in Jesus’ presence and in the truth of His Word.  Study the Word in context.  Constantly renew your ‘mind’ (or thoughts and beliefs) through real Scriptural truth as Rom. 1:1-2 commands.  Then, you “will know the truth [about all things and the Word of God especially,] and the Truth will [systematically] set you free!”

Next, ask the Holy Spirit to prepare you and to lead you to always do His will.  Reach out to other people in need as the opportunities arise.  Obey the Truth of God’s Word.  The more we show His grace to others, the more we “grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” (2 Pt. 3:18.)  There is no greater healing than to help those who are lost, bound, and suffering, (Jam. 1:21-25; 2:14-22.)

My own ‘deliverance’ experience

I had the immense privilege to have been God’s instrument in the lives of broken people for most of the 32 years that I follow Him.  At first, without any guidance except what I received from such ‘deliverance ministries,’ I also bought into many of their deceptions and the twisting of Scripture, although by the grace of God, I never went to the ‘deliverance’ extremes we witness today.  I have confessed all transgressions of God’s Word as sin and asked His forgiveness and cleansing through the blood covenant of Jesus Christ.  Over the years, God has been bringing me to the truth concerning ‘deliverance’ and many other church deceptions, so that I can understand the Truth of His Word, and also help others to ‘know the truth, as Only The Truth will set [us all completely and eternally] free.’

My path to freedom from these ‘deliverance’ lies began as I eventually realized that my own ‘deliverance experience’ did nothing to free me from the presence of a threatening dark entity, which constantly haunted me since shortly after I gave my life to the Lord.  It was quite some time after I was supposedly ‘ministered to’ that I had a terrible ‘dream.’  I was wrestling with a very strong, dark ‘man.’  As I woke, he rolled off the bed and went to stand at the foot-end of the bed.  I rebuked him and tried to cast him out in the Name of Jesus, but he did not move. I ‘pleaded the blood of Jesus,’ but he did not move.  And then, the Holy Spirit took control.  I spontaneously flung my arms in the air and began to praise God out loud.  Suddenly, a ‘lightning bolt’ shot into the room – and he was gone.

I believe God sent a mighty angel to remove him from me.  I do not know where he came from and why he harassed me for so long before God took him away.  What I do know, is that he did not live in me; not in my mind or anywhere else in my body.  I believe Satan, knowing that I have God’s calling on my life, sent him to harass and scare me into turning back to my old life, as I was, at the time, as a youngster in the Kingdom of God, experiencing immense persecution from all sides.  I know now that God allowed it all to prove my loyalty to Him.

Besides this miraculous experience with the One and Only Deliverer, Jesus Christ, I also witnessed so much of the catastrophic chaos in churches, the humiliation and maltreatment of people in need, and the fact that nearly all the same people that were ‘delivered’ last week, were back the following week, while their problems constantly mounted.  I began to seriously doubt that such a thing as a ‘deliverance ministry’ exists, and turned earnestly to Jesus’ Scriptural truth.  This is the Holy-Spirit power of God that cannot and will never fail us.

Now, many years later, God, in His infinite grace, is still sending broken, utterly confused people to me.  People, often devoid of any Scriptural truth and polluted with so many false prophesies, dangerous deliverance techniques, and outright lies about God Himself, that only Jesus Christ Himself can put these broken people together again.

They teach afflicted people that their born again human spirits are clean, but their souls or minds are filled with demonic strongholds where demons dwell, which must be cast out, right?  (I also fell for this clever deception in the beginning.)  This is wrong, because the marvelous Word of God actually says that deceptions can be erected in the minds (or thoughts) of even born again saints, or true, blood-cleansed believers, (2 Ths. 2:9-12.)  Believers can be deceived, not because demons can live in their ‘brains’ or minds in ‘fortified castles,’ but because our thoughts or beliefs still have to be ‘changed’ or be constantly “renewed” from believing the deceptions we were taught in the kingdom of darkness and in churches, to knowing the perfect will of God, (2 Cor. 10:4-6; Rom. 12:1-2; 1 Pt. 1:13-19.)

Long before we decided to accept and follow Jesus personally, (Jn. 1:12-13,) the Holy Spirit was already speaking His truth into our thoughts so that we could recognize deception and other disobedience to Scripture, and distinguish between Biblical Truth, lies, and twisted truth. (The Holy Spirit came to “lead us into all truth,” which He will continue to do throughout our lives on earth IF we allow Him to lead us, and IF we follow Him obediently.)  And so, in the beginning, as we began to obey His voice, He convinced us of sin, righteousness, and ultimately of judgment, should we not obey Him and repent from the deceptions that keep us away from God, (Jn. 16:7-11.)  Consequently, many sinful beliefs already fell long before we could decidedly accept Jesus’ truth and be saved.

Þ That is why Paul nullifies the claim of fortified ‘castles’ in our ‘brains.”  In 2 Cor. 10:4-6 and throughout Scripture, Paul never even suggested that we must “cast out demons” from our physical brains or minds.  Even if demons were living there, demons would still not be the real problem.  We ourselves, by choosing to believe lies or choosing to continue in other types of sin, caused the problem, and we ourselves also choose to nurture the problem as long as we do not seek God’s Real Scriptural Truth and repent.  Jesus’ Kingdom of Redemption, Salvation, Blessing, and discipleship in Him is all about personal choice, responsibility, and accountability, (Jn. 1:12-13.)

Þ This is why ‘deliverance ministries’ flourish. They lead people to believe they can passively be ‘redeemed’ from their sins and they never have to withstand the devil and their own ‘sinful flesh’ or bad desires, (Rom. 8.)  Believers can simply consult a pastor or some other ‘deliverer’ and that person will instantly do it all for us.  It is time that believers seriously read Matthew chapter 25 to see what Jesus commanded in terms of discipleship and personal responsibility

All sinful beliefs and thoughts were not automatically changed when true believers were “called out” or removed from the kingdom of darkness and brought spiritually into God’s Kingdom of Light through their personal rebirth, (1 Pt. 2:9-10; Jn. 1:12-13; 3:3-5.)

Þ Therefore, I cannot emphasize enough that spiritually born again believers still have to “be transformed by the renewal of their minds, or actually, the renewal of their thoughts and beliefs;” not “conforming to the [religious] world,” which is merely believing church doctrines that make people into spiritually dead but diligent church members, (Rom. 12:1-2.)

Failing to renew their minds through contextual knowledge of God’s Word is the greatest problem among believers, as they do not understand “what the will of God is,” and therefore, cannot obey Him, (Rom. 12:1-2.)  Peter, in 1 Pt. 1:9; 13-15, calls the goal of the lifelong process of mind-renewal “the end of your faith – the salvation of your souls” or minds, which contain your will, intellect and emotions, (1 Ths. 5:23.)  “Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you... as obedient children; not conforming yourselves to the former lusts as in your ignorance, but as He Who called you is holy, you also must be holy in all your conduct…”
