When Christians refer to spirit entities and supernatural power as 'energy,' 'vibrations,' ‘chi,’ ‘vibes,’ and so forth, they are using occult terms for demonic activity, which they often attach to Bible verses. New Age and other occult healing-techniques in Christianized-pagan psychiatry overran the churches with satanic lingo and doctrine. New Age techniques are allegedly ‘very effective’ in combination with the Esther, Elijah, and Daniel fasts in the Old Testament. E.g., God supposedly uses Christianized ‘psychiatric regression therapy’ in combination with things like a forty-day fast or the three-week Daniel fast, to ‘find the causes of sickness before He can heal them emotionally and physically.’ So, Christian psychologists and so-called ‘deliverers’ allege they ‘regress people into the womb and even into their past lives’ to understand their suffering and forgive those who caused it. This allegedly heals relationships, sick souls, and bodies, (Jam. 5:13-18.) Those Christian shamans also apply occult practices such as Buddhist massages and ice therapy to feet and other body parts, combined with ‘prayer,’ in so-called “deliverance” and ‘healing’ rituals to conjure up ‘negative or toxic emotions’ about abusers. They then supposedly ‘discharge those negative emotions’ to ‘charge’ the person with ‘positive emotions’ about the abuser. This is pagan psychology lingo and naked witchcraft; not Jesus’ commandment to “love our enemies.” All that rubbish can accomplish is to shamelessly mess with people’s minds and connect them to satanism. It is written, “Man is destined to die [only] once, and after that the judgment,” (Heb. 9:27.) The Lord Jesus taught us exactly how to pray about our personal problems, afflictions, and other suffering — and then to trust God to answer in His will, (Mt. 6:5-13; 1 Jn. 5:14-15.) Only three men fasted for 40 days in Scripture. Moses represented the ousted, Old Testament, outward ceremonial temple law, “[which were symbols of Jesus’ New Covenant, but] made nothing perfect,” (Heb. 7:18-19; 8:5-13; Col. 2:9-15!) Elijah represented the mediating Old Testament prophets, who do not exist under the New Covenant anymore, (Heb. 1:1-2.) The Lord Jesus Christ, Who still ministered before the cross under the Old Covenant, is the Sole Representative of His Eternal New Covenant. His 40-day fast was a prelude to His complete victory at the cross, which established His everlasting, full atonement for all true believers, (1 Tim. 2:5.) So, Jesus first fulfilled and thereby annulled the entire ceremonial law that pertained to the Old Testament covenant. Each and every literal law that supported the symbolical country, nation, temple, sacrifices, feasts, and everything else about Israel; the entire Levitical priesthood that administered it as well, “vanished away” before His eternal Spiritual, New Testament Covenant, (Heb. 10:1-4; Mt. 5:17-20; 1 Pt. 2:9-10; Hebrews 7:11-19; 7:18-19; 9:8-15; 8:7,13!) Fasting itself has no spiritual power, just as oil and water have no magic abilities in the anointing of the sick and the baptism of true believers, (Mt. 28:18-20.) They remain God-created substances that only symbolize the power of the Holy Spirit and the spiritual burial and resurrection of disciples in Christ, (Jam. 5:16-18; Rom. 6:3-14!) Jesus declared that the laying on of hands [in Holy-Spirit healing,] is one of His ‘signs’ or gifts that [naturally] “follow” believers, (1 Cor. 14:22; Mark 16:15-18.) In the anointing of the sick as well, it is our obedience to sincerely confess what we committed against one another to one another, (in combination with forgiveness and sincere prayer,) that “avail much,” (Jam. 5:16-18.) When Jesus said, some demons are stronger than others and will only “come out through prayer and fasting,” it was still under the Old Testament covenant. The Old Hebrews could not be cleansed by the blood of Jesus and so the Spirit did not indwell them yet, (Mark 9:29; Jn. 7:39; Lu. 17:20-22 KJV.) Demons inhabited them but cannot live in true believers; the blood-cleansed temple of the Holy Spirit, (Eph. 1:7-14; 1 Cor. 3:16-17; 6:15-20.) The context of the debate about fasting in Matthew 9:14-15 is the previous and following verses. First, the Pharisees objected that Jesus ate with sinners, (v. 9-11.) He answered, “Those who [think they are well] do not need a physician… I desire mercy and not [outward] sacrifice [to impress people.] I came to call [those who know they need the Savior] to repentance [and spiritual life through the spiritual rebirth in Me: Jn. 3:3-18.]” Then John’s disciples, clearly instigated by the temple masters, bragged that they and the Pharisees fasted often, but Jesus’ disciples did not. The Lord defied their man made customs and demonstrated His concern for those who desired to live spiritually. A good example of this is Nicodemus, who could not understand the difference between outward religion and Jesus’ spiritual Kingdom, where believers have to be spiritually born again to understand and enter His presence, (Jn. 1:12-13; 3:3-5.) So, Jesus steered the debate about ritual fasting in Matthew 9:14-15 to the spiritual New Covenant. He said, “No one puts a piece of new cloth [spiritual life] on an old garment, [a spiritually dead person,] for the garment tears and is made worse. Similarly, pouring new wine, [spiritual life] into old wineskins, [spiritually dead religionists,] will break them and the wine [will be wasted.] “The Message of the cross is foolishness to those who perish, but to [true believers] it is salvation in the power of God,” (1 Cor. 1:8.) For the “natural, [spiritually dead but religious] man does not receive the [spiritual] things of… God. They are foolishness to him. He cannot understand them, as they are spiritually discerned…” (1 Cor. 2:14-16.) Thus, it is unprofitable to fast without even knowing what fasting really means. It is, in the context of Isaiah 58:6, the sorrowful “crucifying” of disobedience to God’s inward Moral Law to live in His presence. That is why Jesus said that [the inward fast] or “mourning for the bridegroom” when He left the first disciples to go to heaven, could only fully manifest after the Lord did not live literally with His disciples on earth anymore, (Mt. 9:15-16.) Viewed from Jesus’ eternal, spiritual, New Testament Covenant, it is totally inappropriate to mimic Old Testament fasts as solutions to problems, while neglecting to stand on the absolute atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ; our complete redemption, salvation, and blessing for all eternity — and in obedience to the precepts of His Moral law, (Isa. 58:5-8.) · This is why the ‘Esther fast’ is now a useless Old Testament fast of the Old Hebrews, which never pertained to Holy-Spirit “possessed” believers in Christ, (Jn. 19:28-30; Heb. 8:13; 7:13-19; Eph. 7,12-14!) · Similarly, the ‘Daniel fast’ was for God’s dealings with Daniel, because he was an exceptional end-time prophet, whose prophesies manifest during our time in John’s New Testament prophecies, (Rev. Chapter 13:1-18; Dan. 10:1-3; chapters 7-12:4.) Daniel’s prophesies are not the false “Israeli timeline” dogma; it is all about the spiritual body of Christ, who lives in the last of the end time. Only God’s inward, Moral Law, as found throughout Scripture, applies to New Covenant believers. (1 Cor. 10:6-11; Jn. 18:36; 13:34.) As a result, as far as fasting goes, the norm is what God commanded under the Moral Law in Isaiah 58:6-14. · “This is the fast that I have chosen. Loosen the bonds of wickedness, [by crucifying sinful pride, desires, and other things that make you sin, as repentance symbolizes literal fasting.] Undo the heavy burdens [by confronting those who sin against you and by confessing your sin to those whom you harmed: Mt. 5:21-26! Luke 17:1-3; Mt. 18:15-20; Jam. 5:16-18.] Let [those whom you] oppress go free, and [so] break every yoke... Then you will delight yourself in the Lord..." True fasting is emotional and physical self-discipline to obey God. So, actively obeying the precepts of the Moral Law concerning our sin and those who suffer, (like to help the hungry,) is the acceptable New Covenant fast, which is actually a lifestyle in Christ, (Isa. 58:6-12!) That is why, if someone were chronically and severely abused by parents, spouses, etcetera, God will not use Christianized ‘memory replacement therapy’ and other occult methods to heal the person emotionally or physically. He will, however, “make all things work together for good to those who love Him,” (Rom. 8:28.) ‘Love’ for even our irreconcilable enemies is not the so-called “changing of negative feelings into positive emotions.” It is agape or Moral-Law obedience to God’s contextual Word by understanding and doing His ‘perfect’ will, (Rom. 8:28; 1 Jn. 2:4.)
Because Jesus suffered and fulfilled the entire Law for us at the cross, we can conclude that plain obedience to God’s Word is what heals victims and resolves bad situations, (Isa. 53:3-6.) Fasting too, cannot add anything to Jesus’ complete atonement in our place, (Col. 2:9-15.) Still, obeying His Moral Law should be done without delay as it severely affects our relationship with God and people, (Mt. 5:21-24.) It includes our “mourning” for our sin against others and their sin against us, while seriously seeking God’s face in prayer to intervene in the situation, (Jam. 5:16-18.) This fast is not outward legalism. Jesus said, “When you pray [about your private matters,] go into your room and close the door… Do not use vain repetitions [and occult techniques] as the heathen do. For they think they will be heard for their many words, [their religiosity.] Your Father knows the things you need before you ask Him,” (Mt. 6:7-8.) · The spiritual/emotional fast that “God has chosen” is spiritual/emotional fasting in self-denial to actively obey His Moral Law, (Isa. 58:6.) Even if situations remain torturous for prolonged periods, we can be assured that God has a good reason why He allows it. Often, it is because our Lord will not settle problems while we neglect to obey His Scriptural leading. For instance, Jesus commanded in 1 Jn. 3:14-16 and Matthew 5:22-24, “[You know you have passed from death to life if you agape all people in deed and truth.] He, who does not [agape-love,] abides in death and is [an emotional] murderer… who does not have eternal life… (1 Jn. 3:14-16.) “[Therefore,] whoever is angry with his brother without a [valid] cause is in danger of [God’s] judgement… [Because Godly confrontation is showing your offender mercy to make right with you and God.] If you bring your gift [of prayer and worship] to [God’s throne,] and there remember that [someone] has something against you, [or if you have something serious against him or her,] leave your gift there and first be reconciled to [that person as far as possible and as far as it depends on you.] Then come and offer your gift.” John 9:31, “God does not hear [unrepented] sinners, but if anyone is a [true] worshiper and does His will, He hears him.” Someone asked how we can obey this commandment before we can worship Him or pray to Him if the person we harmed, is deceased or unavailable. We can text or call if it is possible. If we cannot reach the person, it will be like trying to speak to the dead — which God clearly forbade in Deuteronomy 18:10-4. Trying to speak to the deceased is pure witchcraft, which the devil will use to deceive and control us. Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 reads, “The living knows they will die [and after that the judgment,” (Heb. 9:27.) But the deceased knows nothing, and they have no more reward [on earth…] Also their love, hatred, and envy have now perished. Nevermore will they have a share in anything done under the sun.” We only have this side of the grave to make right with God and with one another, (Jam. 5:16-18.) Once a person has passed or disappeared, we can only mourn before God if we did not obey His Moral Law, and speak to Him about everything they did against us, as well as everything we did against them. If we then sincerely regret our sins and confess our sins to Him, “He will be [merciful] to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, (1 Jn. 1:8-10.) The above is not a ‘second option’ to resolve problems through Godly confrontation. Let us live on a “cash basis” with God and people where obedience to God’s Word is concerned. “Today,” God commanded, “if you hear My Voice, do not harden your heart [as Israel] in the rebellion…” (Heb. 3:15.) Later, He might not grant us the time or grace to obey Him. If we obey God’s Moral Law "as far as it depends on us," (as we cannot take responsibility for the decisions of other people about anything,) we will remain right with God even if offenders refuse our humble obedience to our Father to be reconciled with them. Their own hatred will chastise them, but we must let them go free in decided forgiveness that surrenders everything to God, (Jer. 2:19.) No amount of Christianized, occult techniques and even sincere fasting and prayer can substitute our Moral obedience to our Father in heaven, (Rom. 12:19 KJV.) Once we obediently work with the Spirit to do God’s will instead of trying to “erase those memories from our minds,” He will use the suffering others caused us to establish His Godly character in us, (Rom. 8:28.) “Every [student] instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old,” (Mt. 13:52.) This means, when we look back on our lives, we will be able to testify how the Spirit taught us to grow our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions through Scriptural obedience to Him, and how He gave us the privilege to minister to others, who endured the same type of traumas He carried us through, (Rom. 12:1-2; Heb. 5:8.) We are indeed in the lifelong School of the Holy Spirit, where we willingly progress step by step in Godly knowledge, truth, obedience, and wisdom to glorify our God. Miracle Healing — Fake or Real?
