GOD’S UNIVERSAL PLAN FOR MANKIND

God’s universal plan is His blueprint for humankind.  His master plan, which He had treasured for male and female: to resemble His outward form; to possess His virtues and Godly character; to communicate with Him; to worship and revere Him, and to rule planet earth under His authority: Gen. 1:26-28; Eph. 4:13; Jn. 4:23-24.

God intended that humankind should live in a flawless relationship with Him.

In Gen. 1:26-28 He described how He made the human species to achieve His original plan. “Let Us, [Father, Son and Holy Spirit], make mankind in Our image and let them, [male and female in conjunction with each other], have dominion over all the earth…  And God blessed them, [male and female], and said to them, [male and female]: Be fruitful…  replenish the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over [everything.]”

God blessed the male and the female whom He had made.

And He crowned them both with the same authority to reign in a joint-rule over His entire creation, managing the earth as equal partners: Gen. 1:26-28.

The UNIVERSAL PLAN of God pertains to the management of everything that falls outside the sphere of our homes or personal lives, where the different sexes are of no consequence - except in careers where physical strength is required: Gen. 2:15; 3:17-19.

GOD’S SPECIFIC PLAN FOR MANKIND

Besides the earth, which male and female was supposed to manage together, God also gave them their personal territory, (their home), to tend, guard and keep: Gen. 2:15.  God planned that they should manage their home in an orderly fashion; therefore He structured the home for the needs of a family.  As a result, humankind’s home necessitated a specific cast of play: Gen. 18:19; Eph. 6:4.  He began this structuring by assigning to the male and female each their specific place in the home.  Then He defined their different job descriptions.

God lavished so much attention on the home as this is the place where the husband and his wife are supposed to bring their family into the world, and where they must teach their children to love, honour and obey Him: Deut. 4:9.

Gen. 2:7: “The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath [or spirit] of life; and man became a living soul.”

God breathed His own breath into man.  Not into the animals, as His Breath is His Spirit.  For man to live spiritually, God, Who is Spirit, imparted His Holy Spirit to him: Jn. 4:24.  This was not natural breathing; all the animals already lived without God’s Personal Breath.  This was His supernatural Breath.  Man is a “living soul”, (physical material like all the animals), but God also gave him His Spirit.  Humankind was made into God’s “image”, because they share in His Breath, His ‘DNA’: Mal. 2:15.

Then, in Gen. 2:18, God said: “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make a helper for him.” Spirit Filled Bible: “A suitable helper, comparable or equivalent to him, complementary to him, completing him.” – Mal. 2:14-16.

This God-created position of helper pertains only to her “own” husband, not to men in general.  In general women are supposed to reign over the earth as men’s equals: Gen. 1:27-28.  But in the home the husband and his wife each have their own, specific place.  The husband is the love-head of their home.  He has to lovingly lead and protect his own wife and children, and provide for them.  The wife is the love-heart of their home.  She has to respect her “own” husband and assist him in the task to care for, protect and teach their children.  Together they must “submit to one another” in all that is good and Godly: 1 Pet. 3:7b; Eph. 5:21-23; Deut. 11:17-18.

We can be sure that God did not make the woman a lesser being than the man.

The words ‘superior’, ‘inferior’ and ‘domination’ did not originate from God.

Such sinful thought-processes stem from the fallen state of humankind.

God made the female physically different from the male, because she was created for her “own” husband, to bear their children: Gen. 2:21-22.

The Talmud, the Jewish writings, describes the relationship between a husband and his wife as follows: “God did not create the wife from her husband’s head, that he should command her, nor from his feet, that she should be his slave, but rather from his side – so that she should be near his heart.”

Men are also abused by women; parents are also abused by children. And believers in Christ are abused in church and at home.
